The smooth body offers no resistance to water and its conic head with prominent thorax is enough to perfectly imitate the body of natural nymphs. Tungsten allows small pellets to reach depths that other nymphs can’t reach, and fool trout that won’t take a large nymph. The key is to design a pellet that reaches the depth but still drift naturally.The origin of the pellets comes from the flies made by a Frenchman called Piam, these were very similar in its design but had no tungsten head for there were not available in those times. Pellets are tied with several materials and colors, being especially effective the ones with green, peacock, black, violet, blue, ambar, olive and those made with natural fibers like skinned peacock and rooster feather quills. Spanish and French nymphing techniques are great for these flies, with long fine leaders so the sinking and drift does not slow down. Still, regular nymphing techniques, using indicators or not, are really effective too. This pellet comes in the most effective colors I used, peacock with live orange and a copper head.

Steps
Step 1
Make a base with the tying thread to fix the head.
Step 2
Fit the Flymen head with some cianoacrilate glue. Tie some coq de leon fibers as a tail, from 3 to 12 is the right amount for these flies.
Step 3
Fix a microbraid section with the thread, leave a space at the back for some color. Shape the body as a cone as shown in the picture.
Step 4
Wrap the microbraid shaping the pellet fly. Tie the body before reaching the head so as to add another color strip.
