The Upper Savinja valley is one of the most beautiful and amazing mountainious landscapes, with the river Savinja as its biggest pearl, that is one of the main tourist attractions.
The river Savinja is a typical alpine river, with a lot of riffles, pockets, deep pools and dams. Since the water is very clean, the river is very rich with water fauna.
Savinja is divided in two fly fishing districts, managed by two Angling clubs. Savinja from its source is managed by Angling Club Ljubno, lower part of Savinja is managed by the Angling Club Mozirje.
