With the season well into full swing, the past 2 months have seen a massive rise in the interest in fly dressing in Ireland and for myself it has been a busy season carrying out fly dressing classes and demonstrations around Ireland and the UK.

Since getting my new qualification with  G.A.I.A (Game angling instructors association) at advanced level i have never been as busy.

My passion for designing new patterns with new materials always fascinate me and i now find myself spending more time in the dyeing room dyeing up different materials enabling me to create new patterns to be tested not only in Ireland but worldwide.

With the interest it has gained i have now been invited to Italy and America next year to carry out workshops and demonstrations which i look forward to , as it will mean i can meet up with old friends and some of my favourite fishing heroes.

Next month i look forward to flying over to England where i will be carrying out a theatre talk on Irish flies and meeting up with old friends such as Charles Jardine Malcolm Greenhalgh and the ever youthful BBC comedian Mike Harding who always manages to get me in stitches when i am filming.

Here are just a few of the new designs that have been working not only in Ireland but across the globe for Brown trout, sea trout and Atlantic Salmon, as well as grayling and char.
