It is usually possible to see, how fishers catch with the big lateral drift of a fly. Especially it is characteristic for fishers with a two-hand  rod and catching on rather far distance. After cast downwards and across a current our fly  is in uncontrollable drift, often it moves with very great speed because of a pulling down of a line  and leader by  current. This technique is good for a spring season when active fish stays on wide reaches. But often the salmon does not want to attack fly carried by leader, line and water flow in this manner.. Especially often it happens during time   of  a salmon run  when fish moves upwards and does not risk to be put out far of it   parking. Then the fly should be stopped within this parking area. Ability to find this places  in the direction of fish run - to mean to find   - the best place for a salmon.Further is there are two variants. If you cast well and can supervise  fly   presentation  by up-stream  mending - then you will provide its long work within a drift out of  best place with the minimum lateral drift and leaving from a perspective zone.If you have problems with a fly  stop ( problems are at the majority of fishers who want to  cast far), it  means it is necessary to change a position for cast and to change cast techniques  .

You probably paid attention that the majority salmon attacks  at a traditional manner occurs almost  directly  downstream of our position, during the moment when the fly has stopped on the straightened line. Here now it is necessary to repeat this situation specially. It can be made with the mending  help   when parking of a salmon is below you and a little aside. If you have problems with control over a fly and with cast, means it is necessary to take of a position directly above fish and to use short cast in narrow sector downstream the river. Then you will not waste time on useless drift of a line and leader+tippet, for the period of fly working  out of a perspective zone and on following preparation of a new cast. Now the fly  occupies working position through one - two seconds and long remains in a perspective zone. Casts  are carried out in wet fly style, with the minimum loss of time for gathering of a line  and without  any false casts . Statistically the gain in time is huge, the fly  leaves a perspective zone only on one - two seconds at back cast.

We already said somehow that the salmon attacks  fly  directly  after its falling on water. The technique described by me allows to do without superfluous blows by a line  on water and saves interest of fish to a fly  during several casts. Therefore efficiency of catching even an one-hand   rod (with its rather small radius of action)  surpasses often standard two-handed rod  work. As a result - our purpose - to stop a fly  in a perspective zone --- - there will be a correct presentation. For this purpose it is necessary to apply up-stream mending or to take   a correct position and to  take narrow casting  sector. The role of fly  thus considerably decreases that allows to distract less on often difficult searches of a productive at this moment (hour or day??) salmon fly.

Two main Factors: fishing location and angler position

The river Chavanga surprises us from the very beginning of a season. Both September and October also have appeared successful for catching of a salmon. Periodic rains saved high enough water level in the river. The temperature fluctuated within 7-9 degrees. Fresh sea fish rose in the river every day. Therefore to catch it was comfortable. The  nearest to the sea site of the river has numerous and various places which are convenient for rest of a salmon and are convenient for its catching. For adaptation of fishers we use Cable Pool. It is the big and long turn of the river with coast convenient for movement and not strong current. Especially it is convenient for catching during a high water level. Here   it is possible to use -2 BEST-  a principle of catching of a salmon that means to use the best place for a salmon and the best place for the fisher. If you are capable to find or define these two best places on the river,  your   chance of successful catching sharply raises. If you are capable independently or by  help of the guide to define the best place for parking or movement of a salmon and can take the best place that  allow you to fish this place correctly - then you the successful fisher. These two moments basically   define your success. Quality of tackle, casting quality   and subjective efficiency of a fly appear often on the second and third plan.We face often that fishers cannot use the salmon tackle correctly. Often there are problems with  correct casting  and especially with presentation of a fly. In such cases the correct choice of a place of catching and a correct choice of a fisher position   defines success of fishing. The correct choice of a place sharply raises chance of a meeting of a salmon and a   fly, and the correct position levels many problems in casting quality   and especially in fly  presentation  .If to speak about the most important in salmon catching - about presentation of a fly -  using  of  2BEST,   is often the most important moment in achievement of really correct presentation.
