Calm winds, abundant rain and high weather temperatures make the Everglades the perfect place "to be" for stellar fishing in the summer. Those who chose to stay away from the heat and leave Florida by late spring, miss out big time, the very best fishing of the year in the Everglades, Miami and the keys.

The flamingo area in the Everglades has been producing consistent action for redfish, snook, tarpon, trout and tripletail.

Tripletail have been all over the place, both keepers and short ones. Tripletail are lots of fun to catch and one of my favorite to eat. Baby tarpon are plentiful now and is not unusual to have over 15 bites in the first two hours of the morning.
