I have been fishing and guiding in Chilean Patagonia for 25 years, so long that I am one of the oldest guides in Coyhaique (although I’m not the only one). The best thing for me in this area is the dry fly fishing, which is unmatchable. Mayflies, hoppers, midges, caddis, stoneflies, ants and other surprises cover the surface of our lakes and rivers, as well as the rings of the trout that eat them. I also like Czech nymphing in some areas of the famous Simpson River, and I don’t despite streamers when it’s time for big trout and salmon.
