The Kenai Peninsula is home to the most diverse fishing in all of Alaska: halibut, rockfish; four species of salmon (kings, sockeye, silvers, pinks); steelhead and trophy rainbow trout; Dolly Varden and the predatory pike. Tower Rock Lodge is ideally located on the banks of the lower Kenai River giving you access to ocean-bright salmon and magnum sized rainbow trout. Tower Rock Lodge guides are seasoned, positive, knowledgeable, patient, energetic and at times humorous. They work exclusively for Tower Rock and live right on lodge grounds providing you access to learn more about the area and its fisheries. On the day of your trip, they will meet you in the morning at breakfast, run through the day's plan, and provide all that is necessary for the day’s trip. Our guest services and support staff are here to make your stay as comfortable as possible with years of experience in the hospitality industry. Our chef will be dishing out everything from Alaskan American classics to Latin fusion and of course Tower Rock’s famous “Thai night.”
The Kenai and Kasilof River receive two runs of King salmon, sockeye salmon, silver salmon, and pink salmon. Rainbow trout and dolly varden, of course, are also big-ticket items throughout the summer months and peak bite occurring in August and September. Steelhead fishing here can be lights out and are most abundant during the second half of September into October. Though not particularly well known on the Kenai Peninsula, pike as well grayling are also available via flyout and hike-in. While most of our saltwater trips target halibut, arrangements can be made for combination trips out of famous ports such as Seward or Homer that target halibut, salmon and rockfish.
King salmon: May, June, and July (season closes July 31st).
Sockeye salmon: Mid June to Mid August. (3 fish/person/day)
Silver salmon: Mid-July through October. (2 fish/person/day)
Pink salmon: Mid July through September (largest runs occur on even-numbered years). (5 fish/person/day)
Arctic char/dolly varden: Late June through October. (catch and release only)
Rainbow trout: June 11th through October. (catch and release only)
Steelhead: September and October. (catch and release only)
Northern Pike: All season. No limit.
Grayling: All season.
Halibut: All season. (1 fish under 29 inches, 1 fish over 29 inches).

Tower Rock Lodge with its four log cabins and two lodge-style buildings provides perfect accommodations for groups as well as couples. Built from reclaimed virgin timber from the old Kenai cannery and 10 tons of rock from Prince William Sound, the original Rock Lodge building is ideal for larger groups. The popular Alaska style log cabins are ideal for four with on-demand hot water, full bathroom, and front porch.
