The River Isla, the major tributary of the world famous River Tay, runs through the heart of the Estate. From the cultivated fields of the home f View more...arm, hills rise over 3,000 feet beyond the woodlands and heather moorland to the high tops. The Estate, remote and yet a mere 90 minutes from Edinburgh, has a huge variety of topography and habitat which make it home to an extraordinary range of wildlife. Glenisla is mostly organic with such a profusion of wild flowers that part of the glen has been made into a reserve.

We can provide wild brown trout, salmon, sea trout and grayling fishing. We have wild brown trout in two beautiful hill lochs and, in addition, we can arrange trout fishing in other varied locations nearby. 1.5 miles of double bank trout fishing on the upper River Isla are included in the rent of each house.
For those staying on the Estate, we can arrange salmon and grayling fishing on the 13 Estate beats of the upper River Isla (the largest tributary of the world famous Tay). We can also arrange salmon and sea trout fishing on the interesting spate rivers of the Blackwater and the Shee and also on the Tay itself, depending on the time of year.
