Bonefishing
Bonefishing has been the mainstay of our fishing for decades with Turneffe Atoll's miles of crystal clear, wadeable flats. Bonefishing remains consistently good throughout the year.
Permit Fishing
Increasing numbers of saltwater anglers have developed a serious interest in permit fishing. Turneffe Flats is one of a select group of saltwater destinations where you can regularly experience the excitement of flats fishing for tailing permit. Good permit fishing is available throughout the year.
Tarpon Fishing
Because tarpon are migratory, they are, by nature, seasonal. Although some tarpon are around throughout the year, our prime season generally begins in mid-to-late April and continues to mid-October with June, July and August generally being our best months. Most of our migratory tarpon are in the 70-90 pound range, but we see some 150-200 pound monsters each year.
Turneffe Flats has eight spacious, air-conditioned cabanas that are located on the beach with panoramic views of Turneffe's coral reef. Each cabana has two queen sized beds, built in dresser and desk and an incredible view of the reef from the verandah and through the sliding glass doors. Cabanas feature a large private bathroom with two sinks and a large walk in shower.
There are two large air-conditioned Villas on the property that offer families and small groups the ideal accommodation arrangement. Each villa has three private bedrooms and bathrooms. All of the bedrooms in the Villas have one Queen and one twin bed. Each Villa features a large living / sitting room, kitchenette / bar, and a private verandah.
The social center of Turneffe Flats is our Main Lodge. Incredible views f View more...rom the upper and lower decks make the lodge a favorite spot to relax. The lodge includes our dining room, bar, sitting room, gift and fly shop, as well as our infinity pool which is located directly in front of the lodge overlooking the home flat.
