From the confluence of the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava Dolinka downstream the Sava river drifts away from the main highways. Its flows remind one of the good old days. Its not very easily accessible gravel beds, the deep pools and quiet passages in its stretch between the inflow of the Tržiška Bistrica downstream to Kranj are open to the rare admirers of the remaining wilderness. There are indeed fewer fish here than in maintained fishing grounds, but they are all wild Sava-born fish. This area still offers trophy grayling and brown trout, not to mention the abundant rainbow trout.
